Gemini magnetic level indicator

The Gemini MLI offers innovative level measurement in a special twin-chamber design. A magnetic float and high-visibility indicator in the primary chamber operate indepently of the Eclipse® Guided Wave Radar transmitter in the secondary chamber. This use of two differing technologies adds a layer of redundancy similar to the Aurora model.

Gemini's magnetic indicator chamber can be equipped with switches and additional transmitters for expanded capability. Isolation vales are also easily implemented between both chambers to provided flexibility while fulfilling periodic maintenance procedures.

Technology

Magnetic level indicators

Magnetic Level Indicators (MLI) have revolutionized the global visual indication market by offering a safer, reliable, and high-visibility alternative to common gauge glass assemblies. Utilizing a combination of proven buoyancy principles along with the benefits magnetism, MLIs can be customized to fit virtually any process connection arrangement on the vessel. The chamber and magnetic float is available in a variety of materials and pressure ratings to accommodate the wide variety of complex process applications present in the world’s major industrial facilities.

Technology

Guided wave radar

Micropower impulse radar combines time domain reflectometry, equivalent time sampling, and modern low power circuitry. This synthesis of technologies creates a high-speed Guided Wave Radar transmitter. The electromagnetic pulses are propagated via a waveguide that focuses the energy and yields a system many times more efficient than Non-Contact Radar.

Change in the process tank level corresponds to change in the Gemini chamber. The float within the chamber actuates flags or a shuttle for visual indication. The instrument mounted within the second chamber also reacts according to the level change.
